In a fiery interview with RNN News, veteran journalist Mubashir Luqman launched a scathing critique of singer Atif Aslam, accusing him of refusing to hold the Pakistani flag during a concert abroad. Luqman, known for his pro-establishment stance and past role in Punjab’s caretaker cabinet, questioned Aslam’s loyalty, stating:
“If you won’t curse such a man, then what would you do?”
The controversy deepened when anchor Naeem Hanif compared Aslam’s actions to Indian singer Arijit Singh, who proudly waved the Indian flag before a crowd of 68,000. Hanif alleged that Aslam not only declined the Pakistani flag but also pushed away the person offering it, prompting the anchor to declare:
“Curse to him from us.”
This incident has reignited debates around patriotism, celebrity responsibility, and the symbolic power of national identity in global arenas
