In a moment rich with historical resonance and regional diplomacy, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi welcomed Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam in the heart of India’s capital today.
The meeting underscored the enduring cultural and political ties between India and Mauritius, with discussions spanning diaspora connections, strategic cooperation, and shared democratic values. Ramgoolam’s visit—marked by stops in Mumbai, Ayodhya, Tirupati, and Varanasi—blended spiritual homage with geopolitical outreach.
Earlier, the Mauritian leader met President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, reaffirming India’s commitment to the Global South and its Neighbourhood First policy.
